Hosted by Brandon Busteed, Founder & CEO, Outside The Classroom
Today’s economic reality dictates that alcohol prevention professionals closely examine the impact of their programming. While many campuses provide alcohol-free options to deter students from high-risk drinking, practitioners appear divided on the efficacy of this approach. This presentation aims to strengthen campus efforts by disseminating best practices for designing alcohol-free activities and will:
- Share findings from a meta-analysis of research examining the impact of alcohol-free options on student high-risk drinking.
- Discuss lessons learned and best practices from the practitioner knowledgebase to engender a common understanding of what alcohol-free options can accomplish within a comprehensive alcohol prevention approach.
- Highlight case studies from campuses that have had success with this approach, including North Dakota State University.
- Examine common challenges and ways to overcome them.
